Days 6 & 7

Since arriving at Felsengrund Conference Center, the days have been an absolute blur of activity. Days 6 & 7 we continued our VBS program with the elementary school students. On day 6 our focus with the children was the fall and the introduction of sin into the human race. Hannah Sears taught the students about the first sin of Adam and Eve, showing them that it all began with doubting God's word and truth. Throughout the morning we emphasized that only God's word is true and trustworthy. The following day, Kelly Salas taught the children about the next phase of history, redemption! He showed them from Scripture that Jesus died to redeem us from our sins and their consequences, that Jesus is the only hero we need. Through the games and skits we continued to emphasize this amazing gospel truth.

While the VBS was going on, half of our team met with the teens and led discussions, continuing our theme of being Always Ready. We talked about being ready to be redeemed, and ready for joy. Our time with the teens has been immensely encouraging. They have been willing to be open and transparent with us, sharing the difficulties they face as missionary kids, as well as the moments of encouragement God provides them on the field. Each day we have begun by sharing testimonies, and these have been encouraging to all as we see God's faithfulness in the lives of His people.

As a team we've spent the afternoon hanging out with the teams, seeking to continue building relationships with them and ministering to them. We've played games, gone on hikes, and had great conversations. On Day 7 we got to enjoy a Treetop Experience, walking among the treetops of the Black Forest and enjoying the beauty of Germany and Bavaria.

Perhaps the most encouraging part of the last few days have been the reports we've received from parents on the impact of our time with their children. Several parents have approached us to share their thanks for our efforts to minister to their kids, expressing how much fun the kids have had, how much they have learned, and how spiritually profitable it has been. As our time with them draws to a close, we pray that this continues!

Please pray for our team as the long days have taken their toll. Pray for energy, excitement, and selflessness as we seek to make these last couple days as profitable as possible.
